The regulation and biosynthesis of secondary metabolites in flowers is well known. Nevertheless, several questions remain about the pathways leading to carotenoids, flavonoids, and volatiles. Using Petunia, Marigold, and possibly other ornamentals (e.g. Chrysanthemum) as a model, we want to study the pathways that lead to these compounds. More info…
